When Kathy Carlton founded KCarlton International more than two decades ago, she entered an industry where women were largely invisible. Instead of backing down, she doubled down—building a respected logistics firm in a space that was once male-defined. Her work ethic, reliability, and transparent leadership style allowed her to build more than just a business. She built trust.
But for Kathy, success isn’t about a personal spotlight. It’s about what can happen when women come together, uplift one another, and pursue greatness without waiting for permission.
KCARLTON, NAWBO AND A SHARED VISION
KCarlton International has grown into a boutique logistics firm known for strategic, dependable solutions—and even more, for treating clients like collaborators. That legacy of trust and excellence earned Kathy a place in NAWBO’s National Millionaire Circle, which honors women business owners who have scaled their companies beyond the million-dollar mark. But Kathy sees the milestone as more than a number—it’s a mindset.
Now, as President of NAWBO South Florida, she’s bringing that same mindset to the women she serves. Her vision is to foster a space where women don’t just build businesses—they build legacies. The chapter is focused on strengthening member engagement through impactful workshops, enhancing sponsor value through deeper connections, and creating lasting community partnerships.
This fall, the chapter will also launch a fundraising initiative for Gilda’s Club, an organization that provides essential cancer support—demonstrating that business leadership and community care can go hand in hand.

THE POWER OF WE
That belief in shared success is at the heart of everything Kathy does. She leads not to stand apart, but to create space for others to step in and shine. At NAWBO South Florida, members don’t just network—they build deep, meaningful relationships that push them forward.
A LEGACY OF MENTORSHIP
Kathy’s impact extends beyond boardrooms and shipping lanes. From the early days of mentoring Libby—her Little Sister from Big Brothers Big Sisters, who went on to become a successful businesswoman in New York—to her ongoing work with Women of Tomorrow and Girls on the Run, past 100 members, Kathy has remained committed to raising up the next generation of confident, capable young women. She sees mentorship not as a task but as a chain reaction—one that can ignite lifelong change.
As NAWBO South Florida grows past 100 members, Kathy’s leadership centers on presence, intention, and possibility. Her message is clear: women don’t need to wait to be ready. They already are. What they need is community, resources, and the belief that they can scale and lead in powerful, sustainable ways.
Kathy’s advice to aspiring women leaders is simple: Don’t wait to be ready—just begin. The path may not be perfect, but momentum matters. Surround yourself with people who push you forward, who believe in your potential even when you doubt it yourself. And when you find yourself in a room where decisions are being made, own your voice. You’ve earned your seat—use it to make space for others, too.
