Global Affinity Alliance congratulates longtime member and founder of KCarlton International on new leadership role supporting women in business.
GAA congratulates Kathy Carlton, a GAA member since 2018 and founder of KCarlton International, who was officially installed as president of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) South Florida Chapter during the organization’s Annual Summer Retreat and Board Installation, held June 20 in Fort Lauderdale.
The event brought together women business owners, entrepreneurs and supporters to welcome the new board and celebrate the chapter’s recent national recognition as NAWBO Chapter of the Year. GAA and WCAworld were proud to serve as Power Sponsors, showing support for Kathy’s leadership and her continued dedication to empowering women in business.
During the evening, Kathy addressed the crowd with a message focused on purpose, connection and presence. “When I joined NAWBO, I wasn’t looking for a title,” she told attendees. “I was looking for a group of women who knew what it meant to build something from the ground up.”
She described the organization as a sisterhood and credited it with helping her find encouragement, confidence and the kind of professional support that shaped her approach to leadership. Creating that experience for others, she said, would be a priority in her presidency.

Kathy also shared her vision for the year ahead, outlining plans to strengthen member engagement, highlight women-owned businesses and cultivate a collaborative, inclusive culture. “I don’t believe leadership is about being the loudest in the room,” she said. “It’s about being intentional, being present and creating space for others to shine.”
She closed her remarks with a message that underscored the heart of her leadership style. “You don’t have to have it all figured out to lead. You just have to care deeply, show up consistently and believe that it’s possible.”
A GAA member for more than 7 years, Kathy continues to exemplify the values of service, connection and long-term community leadership. Her presidency at NAWBO South Florida marks a meaningful new chapter, and GAA is proud to stand behind her as she steps into this role with clarity and heart.
